Medicine
is under siege. Our APA must become more than a traditional professional
association. Our leaders require special skills. They must possess organizational,
fiscal, and business knowledge to envision new possibilities. They must
have the capacity to translate vision into political, social, and business
substance.
Every dollar must be spent in support of goals. I propose we become
so confident about service to members that we offer a return
of dues if we fail to meet organizational objectives.
Beleaguered members
require there no longer be business as usual.
