l want to bring a new national viewpoint to APA leadership. Not part of
the traditional hierarchical establishment of our organization,
I offer the fresh and unencumbered vision of a respectful outsider.
My regional and outsider status are strengths.
I am also the only candidate for treasurer who has created an effective,
organized response to the corporate mistreatment of our patients. While
in full time solo private practice, I cofounded a nonprofit, multistate,
multidisciplinary, psychiatrist-directed behavioral services
organization. We are a major regional force in the Northwest, a credible
alternative to the for-profit industry. We spend health care dollars on
care, not dividends.
I know how to run a business, tight and lean. I understand money. I
know how to fight, how to lead, and how to succeed.
I am committed to fostering a new kind of APA leadership team, focused
on making our organization comprehensible and streamlined, on reducing
the financial burden of dues, on improving dramatically the quality of
our communication systems, on supporting our district branches, the
lifeblood of our organization.
I would be grateful for your assistance.
